Tapping to spirituality




Latin Americans take to bhajans, shlokas and yoga at discotheques

Sanskrit songs in a discotheque! That would be unheard of in India. But is quite the rage in a Latin American disco and catching on as R. Viswanathan, who hangs his diplomatic boots this month, discovered.

At the Groove, one of the trendiest night clubs in Buenos Aires, the DJ was not playing Salsa, Samba or Reggaeton. Instead, the club was vibrating with Sanskrit songs... Jai jai Radha Ramana hari bol, Jai Krishna Hare, Ganesha Sharanam, Govinda Govinda and Jai Shiva Shambo.

The band draws inspiration from the Art of Living Foundation of Sri Sri Ravishankar, which supports the project and Yoga Rave events in Argentina and around the world.  Read More
